Summer Assignments
Summer Reading Assigments
Summer reading assignments are required of students in honors, pre-AP, gifted, and AP level courses. In these classes, all assignments will be collected and students will be tested on the first day of class. Students should also have a copy of the book available during the first few weeks of school. However, electronic books such as Kindles will not be permitted on campus.Assignments are also available for extra credit in standard level courses. All assignments will be collected on the first day of class. If a parent objects to the content of a reading assignment, he or she must complete SCPS form 479, available on the school's website. The completed form must be submitted to assistant principal Vicki Uppencamp, who will determine if an alternative assignment is appropriate and, if so, make such an assignment available.
